Comments Thread For: James DeGale is Open To Moving Up or Moving Down For Big Fight

James DeGale wants another home fight after four fights abroad. The IBF super-middleweight champion retained his crown against WBC king Badou Jack back in January at the Barclays Center in New York. But the 31-year-old (23-1-1, 14 KOs) is keen to box in the UK again for the first time in November 2014.

How's he gonna move down when he looked like he was dying last weigh in I saw of his, the Bute fight. He looked totally weight drained. He should only be thinking about a move up, not down.

He should target Zurdo then Smith. Get those unifications before he has to rematch Andre Dirrell.

I think you're right, it doesn't look like he can drain himself much more, he may be trying to avoid having to face his mandatory though.

Going down would only drain him, and going up I feel would put him at a disadvantage due to the LHW's being too big for him.

Stay at SMW as there are some good fights to be made... The Groves rematch, Zurdo, and Callum Smith to name a few.

Don't think he should go down. There's nobody there who's worth draining 8 lbs. Golovkin can go up to 168 if that fight happens.

He's not going down for GGG...

Saunders title is the easiest **** for the buck and a domestic draw at that... That's a potential fight that's flying under the radar...

It might get Saunders paid well vs a easier opponent than Canelo or Triple G... Not that BJS wins it, but his chances are decent if DeGale is drained...

Saunders could have a rematch clause and these 2 would have easier fights for back to back all British PPV's... Thus keeping GGG from that last belt... Then a Canelo or GGG with a potential rematch clause insuring big bucks for someone...

If it's DeGale, he can legitimately claim that he was weight drained and is moving back up if he lost to GGG or Canelo...
