Comments Thread For: Danny Garcia: Would Pick Brook Over Spence If Not for GGG Fight

PHILADELPHIA Danny Garcia would've picked Kell Brook to beat Errol Spence Jr. After watching Brook absorb a beating against Gennady Golovkin, though, Garcia isn't so sure. Now the unbeaten WBC world welterweight champion considers Brook-Spence an even encounter either fighter could win.

I think the GGG fight is making a lot of people wary, due to the eye injury.

obviously the eye injury is major concern.if its not at 100 percent it will hurt brook in this fight and in future fights.he is also coming back down in weight after he's been having trouble making 147.I ain't the biggest kell brook fan in the world but he deserves major respect for moving up to fight ggg and then coming back down to defend his title.

Brook could have easily went in another direction & it wouldn't have been the first time a champ drop his title to avoid the challenger. So I give Brook the benefit of the doubt for taking this fight. People the risk of fighting Spence is not worth it but I 100% disagree with that thought. I have Brook rated as the top 147lb fighter in the division which can be argued but a win over Spence (in which many people has rated as the next coming to take over) would put Brook on another level. Also it would take Brook from the b-side to the a-side against Khan & many others in the division.

I agree with DSG, if Brook hadn't swollen to 170+, this would be a 50/50 fight! However, I don't see Brook being at his best for this fight, and even when he was at his best (Porter) I wasn't all that impressed. Spence Jr. by TKO in the 9th!

Brook does deserve much respect for challenging GGG! I don't give him much credit for coming back to fight Spence because it was obvious that he wanted ANYBODY but Spence @ 147! Brook and Garcia are neck-and-neck for the weakest resumes as current WW champions! At least DSG has a decent resume @ 140!

I think he's made it a 50/50 by putting on such weight and fighting only last time out a the full (no catch weight ) middle weight limit.

No surprise if either won by any route, although I feel if one is to fall badly it would be more inclined to be the inexperienced Spence.

                Great match up.

Yep, like Pac blew up Margacheato's face. It came apart easily in the Cotto fight.

Brook coming back down so much weight really makes me wonder.... he's going to have to lose muscle mass, and that's never a good thing.
