  • Comments Thread For: Ugas Beats Ghvamichava By Split Decision; Ramirez Stops Karl

Yordenis Ugas won't overpower opponents the way his childhood friend, Aroldis Chapman, can do on the baseball field. With the Yankees' hard-throwing closer cheering him on from ringside, Ugas won his way Thursday night in Robinsonville, Mississippi. The former Olympian from Cuba didn't do anything spectacular, but boxed well enough to fend off Levan Ghvamichava and won a split decision in a televised, 10-round welterweight fight.

Cowboy got the slow death. Ramirez just took his time and worked him over good. That is worse than any one punch KO, Karl will remember that.

I wonder what the Ramirez/Karl scorecards looked like, I was feeling like a robbery was about to take place if that fight went the distance. FS1/PBC put together a nice competitive card tonight. (Besides the first televised bout when that kid stopped that bum)

I wonder how one judge could score it for Ghvamichava against Ugas? Close but clear win for the cuban despite point deduction (which could have come earlier as there were many low blows). Canīt give more than 3 rounds to Ghvamichava plus the point deduction.

Something about arrogant face first fighters like Karl that annoy me, so it was nice seeing him pay for having the defense of a dead tree. Maybe some day he'll be caught doing something way out of the ordinary like blocking a punch with something other than his head.

The referee was so inept. He allowed the cuban to punch low many times and there were 4 warnings until he finally had the cojones to deduct one point. If the referee had started earlier maybe Ugas would have ended losing by DQ.

99-90 means Ugas one every round and then had to point taken away for the low blows what was this judge looking at??? some selection system theu use in MS... anyone notice that for all the bouts shown it was the same referee, odd...
