As long as Brook can still squeeze down to WW, that's what he needs to do. If he gets by Spence, he'll get one or two big money fights vs Khan, Pacquiao, or the Garcia/Thruman winner this year. At 154, there's no immediate money fights for him (not when Cotto refuses to fight him).


Also interesting to hear that Brook/Spence isn't the big money fight that Brook/Golovkin was??? According to the GGG haters, all that UK ppv & gate money was b/c of Brook, but for some reason it's not there with Spence....

Excellent point...you killed it with that statement, never once did you hear Kelly say that making 147 would drain him when talking about facing Con or pac, you're absolutely correct! There's no championship fights for him at 154 where he would be favored to win, Kelly knows that he is very limited, his whole thing was to use his size against the other ww's, now that it won't matter against Spence and because Spence isn't a slouch, Kelly wants to act all brand new like he doesn't feast on weak mandatories, he's a hoe for that!

You just know he could vacate,go to 154 to avoid spence and all of a sudden come back to
147 for Khan or Pac if that fight presented itself

I believe Hearn has said that Brook has been having problems making 147 for some time now, but after going as high as 170 prior to GGG, 147 seems ridiculous, and Hearn doesn't want Brook to damage his body.

Kell has always had issues making 147, he always get fat in between fights. Went he struggled in his first fight with Carson Jones he blamed his trainers and his weight making, since that time they brought in a dietian for him. He still balloons in between fights doe... Problem is if he moves to 154 he would be fighting guys who doesn't bring him any money and guys who would be closer to him or bigger than him on fight night. He really is backed into a corner.

Well let's be fair, Brook probably makes 5x the $$$ for those 2 fights rather than Spence... I'd kill myself to make weight if it meant making that much more money as well.

Well should make money the way greats like May and Pac did,make a name for yourself fighting top opposition and the money will come,these fighters nowadays want to fight bums all their life and wait for a big fight to come along,and if a young talented fighter comes along they do all they can to avoid it,instead of fighting and building your name,i know Kell ain't young now anymore but it's his own fault,he's had years to get a decent resume together

I could understand draining yourself for Pacquiao or Mayweather, but why drain yourself for Spence Jr.? It was a 50/50 fight if he didn't have to drain himself, now I think it's 70/30 in Spence Jr.'s favor! If I were Brook, I would be targeting Jermall Charlo or Erislandy Lara @ 154!
