Comments Thread For: Judge Sets Down Terms To Lift Ban on Edwin Valero Movie

There is no end in sight for the court ordered ban that was dropped last month on the motion picture "El Inca," which premiered in Venezuela on November 25. The movie details the tragic story of two division world champion Edwin Valero, who was viewed as a potential superstar and he was being groomed by Top Rank and Teiken for a pay-per-view fight with Manny Pacquiao.

I hear all kinds of gym stories about Valero . How the guy would drop heavy bags with his punching power ,how Dela Hoya sent him home after getting beaten up in sparring for the Pacquiao fight , or how one of the only sparring partners to be able to hang with him in the ring was Vic Darchinyan of all people . Seems like most respected trainers I talk to are in agreement that he was a Bad dude who probably woulda beat ( or given a heck of a fight to PAC .

valero was a genuine talent. if you watch him spar its clear to see that the guy had snap on his punches that you don't teach. he was a bit roug around the edges, but i have no doubt that he would have been a talented fighter with a shot at being a top operator.
