Comments Thread For: Trainer: Lara or Charlo Have a Great Chance To Beat Golovkin

Veteran trainer Ronnie Shields has two world champions in his stable, both at junior middleweight, and both of them are making noise about heading up to the middleweight limit. WBA/IBO champion Erislandy Lara and IBF champion Jermall Charlo are both discussing the idea of moving up to 160-pounds in 2017.

Charlo seems more polished than Lara.Almost rather see them fight each other.Watched Ronnie fight a lot when I was a kid.Always root for his fighters to do well

Great. Move up to 160 and become mandatory.

Big GGG fan , but asking from the 154 CHAMPS to become mandatory to fight the champ at 160 is the dumbest requirement I've heard in a while , they are not some up and comers , if they move up they fight for a title , thats how it is when you are the champ at your division , you don't go up and start from scratch trying to show your worth..... if they want a tuneup thats fine but they should and will not start to climb the ranks and become mandatories , thats not how boxing works.
Did we ask Pacman to move up and become mandatory ? Floyd ? Loma ? Ward ? Chocalito ? they all got their shot right away so how come the 154 champs needs to prove themselves AGAIN ?
I hope for Canelo sep , but a Degale or a Charlo/Lara/Saunders is the best option (Champs) otherwise no more 160 contenders , GGG walked through all of them by now.

brook was a last minute replacement that brought PPV sales in the UK.

Is charlo or lara last minute replacement under the same promoter?

                  PPV stars?

                  do you understand context?
