Comments Thread For: Jose Pedraza: Gervonta Davis is a Cheap Copy of Mayweather!

Undeterred by the fact that he has not fought since April 2016, Jose Pedraza (22-0, 12 KOs) is full of belief heading in to the third defence of his IBF super featherweight title against Gervonta Davis (16-0, 15 KOs) on January 14.

More like a poor mans, southpaw, James toney.

Not every fighter who uses the shoulder roll fights like Mayweather.

Davis looks best in the pocket rolling and countering with power punches.

Pedraza has the edge because he can keep it long and keep Davis off balance. Davis is pretty basic on the outside preferring to load up with big power shots and k think Pedraza will be good enough to see those coming. If it goes inside though Davis will have the edge.

Ring generalmanship will be the order of the day.

I don't see that many similarities between him and Floyd to be honest.

Spot on - but the word is "generalship". Just sayin.

The fight will be determined by how Pedraza chooses to fight. If he stays at distance, Tank will get tanked.

This is a great bill for boxing. Wish it had been this weekend - doesn't help boxing when 2 good bills are the same weekend.

Porter just had a close fight with the undefeated, inimitable Thurman. Result would have gone either way. Pedraza is nothing like Thurman.
