  • Comments Thread For: Jorge Linares vs. Anthony Crolla II in Play For 3/25 In Manchester

Anthony Crolla will get the chance to become a world champion again later this year. The former WBA lightweight champion, who lost his crown in September at the hands of Venezuelan stylist Jorge Linares, has been granted the opportunity of a rematch.

Crolla isn't in this guy's league and I expect we will see that again here. It's a shame Linares has to return to Manchester for the rematch as we know what's going on here - they have 3 months to find some "independent " judges to ensure the correct result if the fight is anywhere near close. Crolla's a nice guy but he didn't deserve the rematch and if this fight was anywhere outside of the UK, well it doesn't even take place. This is where a lot of the big bucks are these days though and money talks....

Shame. Would've liked to have seen him polish off Flanagan and then fight the winner of Garcia–Zlaticanin.

money must've been too good to turn down for team linares. they have to know that if they don't KO this kid in manchester that they're leaving beltless.

nowhere near as useless as jacobs rematching mora, but this isnt needed, nor did anyone ask for it...uk money too good to linares i guess..it'll be some bs if he hurts his hand again and sits out a year only giving us something we dont wont while easter fights commey and zlat mixes it up with mikey.

The English love their domestic bums, God bless 'em.

Can't blame Linares for taking advantage of those overinflated British paydays.

Crolla is giving me fits. I like an underdog, but this is an underdog with benefits. Back in Manchester? That doesn't make any sense. Who wants to see the home town hero get beat? How do you promote a fight where the attraction is a local getting pummeled? This is Hearn and his manipulations, it's not petty, it is obvious. This won't carry a card, but it would fit as a part of a Las Vegas extravaganza. A good show in Vegas will pay better with better residuals, than a drubbing in a near empty Manchester hall.

First fight was somewhat close but had a clear winner. I expect Linares to make this an even more convincing win maybe even a stoppage this time around. Crolla had his feel good moment but that has ended.

Crolla was completely outclassed the first fight. There is no need for a rematch, it's about money. Linares will school this kid again, easy money.
