    During his most recent episode of Golpe a Golpe, former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez handed out his year-end awards for 2016. For "prospect of the year" - Marquez handed out the award to Diego De La Hoya, who is the cousin of six division champion Oscar De La Hoya.

        Marquez has been on fire this entire year.

        This is pretty much the list I have, although I'd probably give Fighter of the year to Carl Frampton. Fight of the year, I'd give that to Thurman vs Porter personally, but you can't go wrong with either.

        Unfortunately for the haters, Abel Sanchez is the runaway Trainer of the year. Golovkin still undefeated, Gassiev became the IBF champion by beating Denis Lebedev, and then Shafikov had a career resurgence with wins over Jamel Herring and Richard Commey.

          a couple of weeks ago, Sanchez admitted that Ward beat Kovalev..... and then he admitted that Golovkin doesn't care about legacy

          just saying.....

                  I too would give fight of the year to Thurman-Porter since it was two of the best slugging it out in a contest of high skill, more than any other fight.
