  • Comments Thread For: Cuadras Reacts To Chocolatito's Pay Beef, Wonders if it's Fear

Carlos "Principe" Cuadras is not oblivious to all of the statements being made by Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez during the last week or so. Back in September, Chocolatito moved up in weight and won a twelve round decision over Cuadras to capture the Mexican fighter's WBC super flyweight world title in Los Angeles, California.

So Caudras is going to try and be a diva too now? Guess we can forget about seeing this rematch. These two guys can go back to fighting in half empty highschool basketball gyms for $2000 paychecks.

I'll be pretty disappointed if this rematch doesn't get made. This will be the 2nd rematch against Mexican fighters that Gonzalez is going to price himself out of.

Neither fighter is being a diva for wanting a pay increase. I think the difference was ridiculous though. 250K for Cuadras, 400K Gonzalez isn't fair, and hopefully it will be equal in the rematch. This was one of the best fights of the year, and next year's rematch could be just as good. So let the fighters be paid well. Maybe not Carbajal money, but a decent check.

You're comment just shouts out, "I'm not familiar at all with Cuadras or Gonzalez before fighting on HBO. Cuadras knows he's not getting an equal sum to fight Roman Gonzalez and Gonzalez thinks that he can squeeze more juice out of his promoter and HBO, but that will compromise Cuadras' split. This fight will happen because Cuadras is the lightest hitting Super Flyweight that anyone has any interest in seeing Gonzalez fight. Sor Rungvisai is Gonzalez's mandatory and he possesses one punch KO power in both hands. If Gonzalez decides to keep his WBC Title? He must rematch Cuadras or fight his mandatory. I think Gonzalez would much rather lose to Cuadras than Sor Rungvisai for much less money. As much as Gonzalez doesn't want this fight? It's his best bet.

Don't let the Roman Gonzalez Fan Club hear that. They swear that Juan Estrada and Carlos Cuadras are terrified of Gonzalez. I think they both kicked his ass. Juan Estrada went after him from the opening bell out Boxing him in the first half and out fighting him in the second half. In the last 4 rounds Estrada had Gonzalez looking like a bobble head.

Gonzalez wants to get paid for the swelling and bumps and bruises and punishment. He looked like he was thrown down a flight of stairs.

Gonzalez won the first fight and is arguably number 1 pound for pound. Him wanting more money has nothing to do with being scared, he deserves to be well compensated for being an all action fighter with an undefeated record.

By the looks of these fighters faces after the fight... I can understand why chocolatito is pricing himself out. He don't want any part of Cuadras. In my opinion, Cuadras won that fight with Roman
