Lebedev should be ridiculed, it was a strange move that should not have been approved. Inside the ring, he fought a great fight.

You can argue over the winner all you want over who won and by how much but gassiev was mandatory of one belt lebedev defended and lost that belt. Why should he get other belt he is not ranked 1 for or mandatory for? The organizations created this mess trying to get as many sanctioning fees as they can super champ reg champ it's a joke

I agree with Team Gassiev. There should only be one belt per division, but if you are going to have them, you can't lose a fight and still call yourself champion of that division. That's completely absurd. It makes having the belt irrelevant in the first place.

Well Gassiev should hold his head in shame he got that title he holds right now by robbery, he was absolutely abysmal he fought so flat footed and without any real direction against a 37yo, he got outworked and outclassed by a guy 10+ years older than him!
Need I say anymore, that fight was a joke no way did Gassiev win it!

Lets just recap why Team lebedev didn't want the WBA title to be at stake.

If the WBA title were on the line, Lebedev would be obligated to a rematch if he won, whereas Gassiev would NOT have been obligated to a rematch had he won (I have no understanding of why this is, just repeating what Lebedev's team said when applying for the WBA title not to be at stake).

So, Gassiev won, and Lebedev now wants the rematch. Instead of excluding the WBA belt, why not just write that both agree to a rematch in the contract ?

If there had been an immediate rematch clause in the contract for Lebedev to enact should he lose (which he did) then there probably would have been difficulties in going through with that due to the current WBA situation where they are mandating the Dorticos-Shumenov winner to fight their Super champion (Lebedev). The current situation presumably makes the rematch easier as it would now be a unification and therefore trump the WBA mandatory. This is all assuming both sides actually want the rematch and the WBA allow a unification, none of which is guaranteed. At the moment it is hard to work out if either side actually wants the rematch.
