Wasn't sure if Golden Boy Promotions would ever sign women to their company but they did.

Esparza is someone they will definitely try to cross over not just as a boxer but more similar to Ronda Rousey. Obviously she has to perform in the ring to get those opportunities but if she is successful she has the look to become mainstream down the line.

    Smart signing

Why did she wait until now to go pro? She won all the way back in 2012. GBP is just going to use her as a ticket seller.

Yeah it's sad, shields should have all kinds of exposure, 2 time Olympic gold medalist and no one gives a ****.

Truth is American black fighters just aren't getting support from black fans anymore, so networks and promoters don't want them anymore.

Shields is not a boring fighter either. She can make for good TV fights. But I can understand not wanting to pay fighters high minimums if those fighters don't sell tickets.

They gave Marlene more exposure and such cause she was the FIRST women to qualify for the olympics.

And about black fighters, you hit it right on the head people like to get lost in their feelings and Bs and cry some sort of racism but the fact is the networks/promoters/everyone else is in the business to make money and if the blacks are bringing in the money to the table than they gonna look else where to make it. I know I know dumb asses are gonna says Mayweather made the most blah blah blah but thats after the fact, now adays black America is not putting that black dollar behind black fighters in boxing they taking their black dollar to the NBA and yeezys.
