I don't remember him looking that lean and healthy in the face in quite a while. Chavez might actually be showing up this time.

JCC Jr. had the goods. If he had the dedication his Papa had, he could have been great. Its been a shame seeing him waste his talent, and got a feeling whatever he does, too late to make up for all that training and dedication that went missing down the years.

Lest we forget, for 11 rounds, Martinez dominated Chavez to the point where it was a complete mismatch, and that was the fight where Chavez really got put in his place. The 12th changed things of course, and that was the round Martinez's knee gave out, never to recover. That round had a profound effect on the division that we are still feeling now.

              - Martinez lost his most potent weapon, the foot-speed to be almost untouchable
              - it made Martin Murray looked better than he maybe was, which set up Murray's shot against Golovkin (where he did better than many others did as it turns out)
              - it meant Cotto could beat Martinez and take the MW title (prime Martinez would have avoided Cotto's shots; damaged Martinez was an easy target)
              - it meant Canelo could engage a catch-weight with Cotto at 155 for the lineal MW crown

So thanks for all that JCC ! (although can't really blame him for the way Martinez fell, just bad luck).

JCC can still make a mark, but elite is long gone.

Even hitting the speed bag he looks bored and lazy he just has no fire or desire he will
Come in overweight and buy his way out. Will never reach elite or very good champion status doesn't have it in him mentally physically right trainer giving his all could have been something waste of talent the biggest crime
