Comments Thread For: Billy Joe Saunders vs. Artur Akavov - CompuBox Punch Stats

WBO middleweight world champion Billy Joe Saunders produced an admittedly underwhelming performance following a layoff of nearly one year as he squeaked past the unheralded Artue Akavov, who allowed Saunders to impose his jab-heavy mobility offense.

Lol the numbers suggest this fight was razor close, probably should have been a draw at least. Really bad performance by Saunders.

Saunders landed only one measly power punch per round in 7 of the rounds. That's unbelievable for a supposed champion. Really glad I missed this fight.

Sounds like a fantastic fight. Akavov landed 0 of 39 jabs in round 7. Saunders lands 3 of 48 punches in the 12th (you know, the round where you leave it all in the ring...)

He should be thankful that no one cared about this fight, if he would have performed like that in a big fight, his career would be over.
