I can understand gassiev not being able to win the wba title but if lebedev loses the title should become vacant

Should be a good fight for however long it lasts. I have a hard time seeing this go the full 12.

Why would you. Nobody keeps track of who owns what alphabet belt anymore. They're just bargaining chips. Save a backup chip.

Agree 100%. I hope they aren't paying sanctioning fees for the WBA

The title should read: The IBF screwing up boxing once again...The WBA would recognize Lebedevs right to a rematch -- the IBF with their ****** six month interim voluntary rule and one year mandatory rule would block the fight if I understand these rules correctly...it reminds me how that fraud Anthony Joshua got his hands on the IBF when the other fraud ( Tyson Fury )could not grant Klitsckho the rematch because of the IBF's ****** rules that strictly enforce the mandatory regardless that Wlad was the former lineal champion.

That was Fury's fault. He was the mandatory under the WBA and WBO. He had ZERO reason to sign a rematch clause. They offered him a huge amount of money for a rematch - but they would only guarantee the amount if he signed a rematch clause. He could have still got the Klitschko fight [unless Wlad vacated both belts which he wont], beat him and probably asked for way more than that contract was listing for a second fight.

Sounds like something that idiot would do...however the IBF is the issue they would of moved Wlad behind Joshua...I agree the WBA-WBO would honor the rematch....anyways didnt get what you are saying 100% but I feel where you are coming from.

This shows me that Lebedev is not very confident of winning against Gassiev. He has already lost in his own mind. Doesn't have the balls to put it all on the line like GGG or Kovalev. Politics once again in boxing is messed up.
