Comments Thread For: Wilder Cleared To Train; Says He'll Fight "In February Or March"

Deontay Wilder told BoxingScene.com on Friday that he has received clearance from his doctor and has begun training for his comeback bout. The unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion underwent separate surgeries four months ago to repair a broken right hand and a torn right biceps. Both injuries were suffered when Wilder stopped Chris Arreola following eight one-sided rounds of their title fight July 16 at Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama.

I think he'll have a tune-up, then Povetkin in the summer.

He needs to figure out how to throw that right hand properly so he doesn't bust it up in every other fight. At the age of 31, his Wolverine-like healing powers won't last forever...

His whole career has been tune-ups, hasn't it?

My money would be on Wilder vs Gerald Washington before the Povetkin/Stiverne winner. I could also see it being Wawrzyk

I don't belive the legitimacy of his injuries.

Supposedly he tore the bicep off the bone yet he's going to be back in the ring within 6 months.

Within 6 months he'd be still in rehab for an injury like that and wouldn't be "training" for 9

Mind you he's pumped full of PED's which repair injuries faster so that's probably what this is
