A lot of the 'hardcore' were emotionally invested in this fight as it's one if the biggest fights that can be made in the HW division. After Povetkin was bagged taking meldonium it has lost some of it's luster.

Hopefully this fight gets made in the end and Wilder uses his 8 inch reach advantage to punish Povetkin.

Don't really care about this fight. And Wilder already got his voluntary defense against Arreola. He should make Povetkin his voluntary defense since it's more of a tuneup fight until Povetkin proves he can beat a top guy.

I'd love to see Wilder fight Joshua though, or Luis Ortiz, or Klitschko. Unfortunately Wilder still has never faced a top guy. And unlike GGG, he's had plenty of chances. GGG chases the top guys, gets ducked. Wilder on the other hand has done the ducking so far, so it's hard to be a fan. He could have fought Klitschko but chose to wait until they got old. Floyd must be advising him. Disappointing because Wilder has talent.

Fight will take place in Las Vegas.

Wilder wins. Too slick, too quick, too powerful.

Never heard of someone describing this new born giraffe as slick. Interesting.

The timing looks bad because Povetkin is going to need time after his upcoming fight, but then Wilder would have been gone for a long time without a tune-up. I can only imagine that this will run on BST (Boxing Standard Time) we'll end up with a tune-up in the spring and the actual fight at the end of the summer.
