Comments Thread For: Mayweather Mentions Ali's Health As A Reason To Remain Retired

NEW YORK Among the things that concern Floyd Mayweather Jr. about boxing again are the effects another fight could have on his long-term health. His defensive effectiveness throughout his career enabled Mayweather to take less punishment than 19 years in the ring as a professional could cause. After watching the impact taking a few fights too many had on the late Muhammad Ali later in his life, a financially secure, reflective Mayweather has kept those images in mind while weighing his own future.

I only wish I had Floyd's issues. Starvation and rigors in one hand. Champagne and caviar in the other. I know which way I'd go.

As far as Im concerned, there no studies that have been able link boxing/blows to the head to Parkinson's.

So that means taking 1000s of punches to the head dont trigger or effect the disease , I find that hard to believe .

Sometimes common sense makes more sense than studies that have never been done .

So why hasnt he worried about this before? Dont blame Ali, he has nothing to do with Floyds health. Just be honest and say you dont have it anymore or you arent hungry anymore. Ali has nothing to do with retiring

And you'll be the first person to buy the fight.

They are the ones on the field not me. And something Im really not gonna argue about. Im not gonna agree nor disagree with you if you think that they do.

Just as some claim that there are no links between human activities and climate change. Violent blows to the head, destroyed brain cells, no link?
