Comments Thread For: Jason Sosa's Promoter on Fortuna Rematch, Future Fight Plans

This past weekend in Monaco, Jason Sosa (20-1-4, 15KOs) made the first successful defense of his WBA "regular" super featherweight title by defeating Stephen Smith over twelve brisk and entertaining rounds.

My question is (if anyone can answer) how does a rematch clause work, anyhow? I mean is it like, yes, we will fight you someday whenever we feel like it or is there something that makes more sense? It sounds nuts to me to hear Sosa's promoter say that there is a rematch clause to fight Fortuna but he does not think it will be their next fight. I don't get how that works. Anyhow, I think most people would love to see Fortuna vs Sosa II...it will make for a very exciting fight. But of course they will do their dealing and dancing before that happens if it even happens.

Fortuna shouldn't be trading shots with Jason Sosa to begin with. In a rematch Fortuna UD

I don't think Fortuna has the chin or durability to last 12 rounds with Sosa, especially now that the champion has gotten more experience and confidence under his belt. I expect Fortuna will jump out to another early lead but get worn down and stopped again in the later rounds.
