This is why the criticism of Virgil Hunter is unfair. He takes on damaged fighters who are attempting to rebuild their careers and gets penalized when they lose.

The damage here is psychological tho no new trainer can give a fighter back his spirit or work ethic once he looses it for whatever reason that's up to the boxer or a therapist who the heck knows.

              Probably.

My assumption has always been fighting is simply viewed as a job by more boxers (or MMA guys or whatever) than most boxing fans would wanna believe. I mean whats a guy whose spent most of their life training to fight supposed to do?

I imagine only small percentage of boxers are equipped to do much beyond stocking shelves at Lowe's or some other basic low paying job. And what makes more sense knocking down $11 an hour at some regular job 40 hours a week or to spend half that time training for boxing each week & bringing in $25k-$200k a couple times a year & with the hopes of bigger paydays if things align right?

Why should he stay retired hes young enough for a comeback and boxing is propably still the best way for him to earn money.

Perez is and always be talented. His loss to jennings was a robbery. He outboxed bj, and his ko to povetkin was him being half hearted in fighting, along with the half attempt ofvfighting takam. The human mind can overcome these things depending on the desire of the person. Mike can compete with any of the top ten. Id like to see him rematch povetkin because he can beat him just off skill alone, but has big ko power. That Magomed fight has him ****ed up.
