  • Comments Thread For: Canelo vs. Golovkin Negotiations are Still Ongoing

While Gennady Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) and his representatives continue to try and hammer out a fight with mandatory challenger Danny Jacobs for early 2017, the biggest fight out on the horizon for the middleweight king is a showdown with Mexican star, Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (48-1-1, 34KOs).

every single mega fight out there will from now on get the floyd manny treatment.

sucker fans into buying showcase fight after showcase fight with the payoff of a possible canelo vs GGG floyd vs manny fight.

crap like this is why boxing has become a niche sport despite STILL having great potential because of the vast talent in its many divisions.... but sadly being wasted.....

how many great fights has the sport missed out on year after year after year????

these guys are leaving out a lot of money and legacy on the streets employing the floyd self preservation only fight if its the best financial incentive WITH NO RISK attached.

They are ongoing in the sense that, neither of them have firmly said "no, it's not going to happen".

          It's only "ongoing" by default.

Until these two vaginas actually get in the ring and fight - **** them both.

Fighters over valuing their worth has become a plague in boxing. That is why I am so grateful that Kovalev and Ward decided to get it on with NO nonsense regarding negotiations or money.

Can at least both camps sign a contracted date.....similar to what Kovalev vs Ward.....September 2017.

That way both are signed and sealed for that date

props to Ward and Kovalev, I guess they both really wanted that fight..... but that kind of deal is very rare, and it is highly unlikely that a genuine PPV star would ever consider a deal like that.

That is basically what Saunders wanted from Canelo following the proposed Rosado fight, and other fighters have requested the same thing from Pacquiao and Mayweather..... and they were all dreaming.

look at the slimy way that Team Golovkin have behaved..... K2 are notoriously difficult to negotiate with, manipulating the WBC into pressuring Canelo, requesting an early purse-bid to manipulate Jacobs.....

..... no way would/should GBP contractually obligate themselves to those asshats

Yes, I'm sure there some real good faith negotiations for a fight happening a year from now if we're lucky when one fighter can't even get random ****ing contenders to grow a set and fight him for a chance at stardom.

                    ****ing boxing is awful.
