He's incredibly explosive, got great power and isn't afraid to come forward. Not sure where you're getting that he starts slow from.
His record includes Takam. That's hardly home built.Comment

He was based out of NZ for the longest while so I'm not sure who you expected him to fight coming up. Options were limited. He's stepped up since then and proven his mettle. Kind of odd you dislike him considering his activity level and style. You could perhaps criticise him on his choice of opponents post-Takam, but he's at least taking steps to raise his level and is, in HW terms, still a baby.I'd like to see Andy pick up the title over JP. I have no rational reason for my dislike of JP I think it's because he feasted on New Zealand biker gang members for his come up. He goes back in straight lines (sometimes) and carries his hands very low for a HW.
His last two fights have certainly been a improvement, that I must admit. I know Andy is hungry (food pun intended) for a title shot but can he bring the intensity and punching power we think he can produce?.
Fury is an exception to the rule when it comes to body weight. He's been breeded to fight, you can even trace his family and you'll see fighting stock in the family. Anytime I see a ball of fat for a professional it makes me question whether they can go 12 rounds.
Stylistically he has his faults, I agree. But then the same can be said of Joshua as well. They're both far from the finished article.Comment

Yeah he's looked solid vs those opponents but vs AJ, Wlad, Wilder he's a KO waiting to happen IMO. He was punch perfect vs Dimi but Takam showed he's not the best defensively. He was based out of NZ for the longest while so I'm not sure who you expected him to fight coming up. Options were limited. Kind of get the feeling he's learning on the job?.The elite HWs all have some type of amateur experience and you can see it in the fundamentals, the way they judge distance and their ring IQ. I'm not writing him off though Fury got knocked left right and centre before he reached the pinnacle.Comment

His defensive lapses are worrying, for sure, and it's more worrying that no one seems to have picked up on it or done anything to rectify his faults. Or maybe they have and Parker just hasn't internalised it. I'm not sure if a guy like Wlad or Wilder would take him out, but Joshua or Ortiz certainly could. I can see a lesser heralded fighter possibly catching him and dropping him as well. It's going to be a shot he doesn't see coming or walks onto.Yeah he's looked solid vs those opponents but vs AJ, Wlad, Wilder he's a KO waiting to happen IMO. Hopefully he's put into a few more tough learning fights to prepare him for the big time. Someone like Duhaupas or Rossy might give him a few good rounds without providing a huge risk.Comment

The times he has looked the worst defensively have been smaller bull dog type guys. Bergman, Takam, Haumono (briefly) Parker looks a lot more natural in the ring fighting taller guys. I think Ruiz might get a few off but has not enough power or athleticism to cause enough problems. Really curious to see how Parker goes against a reasonable taller guy, Duhappas for example. Genuinely believe he's a different animal against the bigger men time will tell. His defensive lapses are worrying, for sure, and it's more worrying that no one seems to have picked up on it or done anything to rectify his faults.
