Comments Thread For: Chocolatito Feels He's Being Low-Balled, Wants More Money

We all know that the main inspiration of Roman 'Chocolatito' Gonzalez (46-0, 38KOs) was to reach the pinnacle of boxing like his idol Alexis Arguello, but he also wants to be paid very well for his performances.

After what he went through physically against Cuadras coupled with the fact that he is an all action , come forward fighter, he definitely deserves to be well paid.

HBO should throw him a bone and take a chance on him.... Pay him well for his next fight and see if he puts asses in seats and on couches for his fight... He deserves too be paid well he's earned it.

Well, first of all, do we know how much he's getting paid nowadays? Fighters' purses are being shown to the public less and less or maybe I'm just missing them.

Anyway, depending on what they're paying him, they might need to up the ante because there were 6k seats sold at that venue for his last fight and he pulled in 800k viewers. When he first debuted on HBO he was asking for some crazy money without doing the numbers and I criticized him. But they might need to pay up now. Again, this is assuming that they are actually low-balling him.

Also on Saturday, Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez, (46-0, 38 KO’s) thrilled the crowd of 6,714 at The Fabulous Forum in Los Angeles, with a unanimous decision over former WBC Super Flyweight World Champion and previously undefeated Carlos “El Principe” Cuadras, (35-1-1, 27KO’s). The fight viewed by 833,000 fight fans on HBO World Championship Boxing earned Gonzalez his fourth divisional world title in a clash that is a certain 2016 “Fight of the Year” candidate according to many of the international media in attendance at The Fabulous Forum.
I think he's putting asses on the seats just fine.

Don't know if u are being sarcastic or not, but I have to say it is Haymon's doing by inflating fighters purses for fighting nobodies and Floyd for setting the precedent of fighting the least threatening for outrageous amounts of money. These unintended consequences spread to Mikey Garcia, Ward, and everyone in Haymon's stable.
