Comments Thread For: WBC: Khan: Haye, Pascal - Did Not Enroll in Drug Testing Program

WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman, together with VADA President Dr. Margaret Goodman, officially announced the Clean Boxing Program on May 5, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada. The enrollment process began on that date in which all WBC champions and the top 15 ranked contenders have to mandatorily enroll in the Clean Boxing Program (CBP).

Good thing Shannon Briggs is not ranked in the top 15 or he would be on that list!

so what does this mean exactly do they lose their rankings all together? does that mean khan lost his chance at his garcia rematch? if every major belt org did this it would help boxing so dam much. doing vada or usada during training is great but it doesnt really help. for example when ggg fought lemiuex they did vada testing but they only did the testing for 2 weeks before the fight which made it an obvious pr ploy. even if they had tested positive it would never of been known before the fight and not only that but if either had been using any kind of ped it would of been untraceable long before 2 weeks before the fight.

i dont know i just think if boxing orgs all did out of competition drug testing in order to be able to be in their respective rankings that it would clean up the sport massively

A couple of days ago I archived the rankings for each weight division on the WBC page. Unlike other orgs it's hard to search past WBC rankings. Go to http://archive.is if you want to see last months rankings

I think I like this concept. I'm sure there are some unfavorable situations where this policy isn't the best, but I like the idea of cleaning up the sport. With that being said, I'm okay with Khan, Haye, and Pascal not being in WBC rankings. Pascal probably won't win a title at LHW again. Haye hasn't fought anyone relevant in a while. I don't know if he still has it. And Khan hasn't beaten anyone at 147 yet to warrant a fight for the title. In fact, he hasn't beaten anyone that I should give a damn about sense Maidana. With that being said, there are a few guys who are legit top 15 like Rances who I hope it doesn't affect potential fights down the line. Either way, I can't get mad at this move by the WBC.

They are obviously roided that's why they didn't enrol. If anyone decided to randomly test them now they will fake mental illness

No one knows why these fighters didn't voluntarily enroll in this program. No information has been provided on who pays for these tests. If the fighters have to pay for them out of their pockets or their purses, I don't blame them for not enrolling in these programs.
