Comments Thread For: Thurman: If Mayweather Returns, I'm a Legit Opponent For Him

WBA welterweight champion Keith 'One Time' Thurman (27-0, 22KOs) has not given up on his dream of getting Floyd Mayweather Jr. (49-0, 26KOs) in the ring.

Indeed, but i think everyone knows that if/when Floyd returns for one last fight, Garcia is the opponent.

Thuffer'in thuc'atath Thurman is a legend in his own mind. Rather see Bradley or Garcia get the shot if FM makes a return to the ring.

Floyd would still win by UD, you'll try to box with him Thurman which is a no no with him!

I rather see Floyd vs Manny 2 or Floyd vs Bradley

I want Spence to get the IBF title so Spence and Thurman can have a unification bout. I would also like to see one them or both of them fight Khan. I think they both beats him badly.

Thurman has named every name at welterweight but Spence. I saw an interview with Thurman the other day where he said he wanted to fight Pacquiao, Garcia, Vargas, Brook, but never named Spence

Well given the fact that Thurman-Garcia are on a collision course for early next year, Garcia certainly has a chance to earn it. Everyone was buzzing for a Mayweather-Garcia fight after DSG shocked Matthysse. A Thurman win at WW would be even more impressive. Now Danny has grown into WW and its a much more appealing fight. It would have been cool to have Floyd take on the number 1 guy at 140 who just took out the boogeyman. It would be even better to fight DSG after beating Keith and argueably being the guy with that win. I'm not saying he beats Thurman but I think he has a real chance to do so. Its a 50-50 fight in my eyes.

Great talent but wasting time talking about a retired fighter? Book a fight already and start cleaning out "active" contenders. Fights 3 times in 2 years and is talking about a retired fighter? Give me a break get in there with DSG, or Spence already, what kind of champion is this?
