Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia Waiting To Confirm Dejan Zlaticanin in December

The fight is now back on pace, after the World Boxing Council gave their blessing to Montenegrin Dejan Zlaticanin to make an optional defense of the WBC lightweight world title. There are ongoing talks for Zlaticanin to make a year-end world title defense against former two-division world champion Mikey Garcia.

I'd like to see it. Him vs Linares in a unification would be a fantastic fight as well.

If Mikey beats Dejan I would say Mikey is top 5 p4p.

I would like to see Garcia more active but I see him doing the same thing as most of Haymon's best fighters, saying a lot but not doing a lot. These fighters are signing with Haymon but sitting on the side because there is not enough dates. Being overpaid for dud fights will not last forever. Haymon fighter should be making fights against each other but seem not to interested in doing so.

Garcia beats Zlaticanin easily, and Linares. Verdejo would be an awesome fight down the road.

So this would be the first event promoted by Schaefer right?

Linares is the mandatory for the title so it's possible. Though he said 1 more 135 fight (the rematch most likely) then move to 140.
