Comments Thread For: Bermane Stiverne Confident He Beats Deontay Wilder in Rematch

In January of 2015, Bermane Stiverne (25-2-1) lost his WBC heavyweight title to Deontay Wilder at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Before the year is over he will have a chance to get himself back in position for redemption. The WBC recently ordered Stiverne to face Alexander Povetkin (30-1) for the interim title. The winner will become the mandatory challenger and next opponent of Wilder who is currently recovering from surgeries to his hand and shoulder.

I think Bermane can still be a tough opponent for a lot of HW's, but I don't think he will be able to become Champ again. Even going after Wilder, his best chance to beat Deontay was when he first fought him. Wilder has improved since that fight, and I just don't see Bermane beating him in the rematch, but I do think it's a fight that will probably get made unfortunately

Bermaine just needs to be more active, and re-signing with Don King shows he hasn't made a good career move. Which is unfortunate, because he has a load of talent. And Wilder is vulnerable, still, even several fights later. So Stiverne does have a chance in a rematch.

He iust wants another paycheck. Completely classless making up excuses why he lost and can't even admit Wilder was the better man that night. Wilder on his worst day beats Stiverne on his best day and I'm looking foward to Povetkin schooling him. Was he dehydrated in his last fight too when he got knocked on his ass and barley won a decision over a journeyman level fighter?

You better learn how to bob and weave cut the ring off, go to the body instead walking around up right taking right hands to the head

I know right.. A rematch clause is implicit in most contract templates.. It appears like he lost, accepted the defeat & moved on..

Wilder would probably win by KO if they fought now..

Had Stiverne shook early if I remember right. Stiverne is a tough SOB tho. Much more interested in seeing how he does against Povetkin.
