Comments Thread For: Hopkins Wants Credible Opponent For 'The Final Execution'

Bernard Hopkins last fought on November 8th, 2014, when he dropped a twelve round decision in a light heavyweight unification to Sergey Kovalev in Atlantic City. Since that point he's been dormant but he's made it clear that he has one more fight left in him at age 51.

Lol, well, if he wants undefeated, it would be Beterbiev, Alvarez or Gvozdyk.

The balls on Hopkins though.. Hot damn. One of a kind athlete, that's for sure.

          Andre Ward 30-0
          Eleider Alvarez 20-0
          Oleksandr Gvozdyk 11-0
          Artur Beterbiev 10-0
          Erik Skoglund 25-0
          Umar Salamov 17-0
          Marcus Browne 18-0

3 guys are with Haymon so I doubt those get made, and he said he won't fight Ward, so I guess it will be someone we never heard of. I would have preferred if he tried to grab a belt at 168, but that doesn't seem to be possible either with Top Rank leaving HBO, and Haymon having 2 of the other title holders. The only on left is Sturm and I'm not sure what the WBA will do about him. Plus would he even work with Golden Boy again after he got robbed so De La Hoya could face Hopkins?

It would be a part of the natural order if Hopkins picked a young up and coming killer as his final opponent and got KO'd for his worries. Then he can leave boxing knowing he left the sport in good hands.

Bernard "The Executioner " Hopkins vs Roy Jones Jr for The Final Execution....I remember when their first fight took place....when rjjr was out there terrorizing the boxing scene and then The Executioner showed up and took rjjr to the distance...their second fight was also a memorable one so the third would be a dandy...Put the fight on PPV as a co main event or a main event and I would definitely buy it.....I would buy it just to see The Executioner vs RJjr
