  • Comments Thread For: Froch: Only Reason Golovkin Won Was Size and Natural Weight!

Retired super middleweight champion and Sky Sports expert analyst Carl Froch was shaking his head at ringside, as IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (36-0, 33KOs) picked up a fifth round stoppage over IBF welterweight champion Kell 'Special K' Brook (36-1, 25KOs) at the O2 Arena in London.

That tends to happen when middleweights fight welterweights.

Of course that's the case and was going to be the big factor.

People can't be backtracking though. Brook's team were saying he's natural at the weight. His own trainer said this is two middleweights fighting etc. etc. People in his camp saying he's at his best around that weight in camp.

I'm a Brook fan but i hope we don't start hearing these excuses now because until that bell went, they were claiming he's a beast at the weight.

I understand there's selling the fight but when you have a big corporation like Sky involved and getting the casual market involved, you're essentially conning the public when you backtrack about the weight difference.

They did con the public but you want them to continue to con them by not telling the truth, that Brook isn't a MW. You're pathetic.

GGG was willing to take on Froch at 168lbs remember and if it was all about size I'm sure Froch would have taken that fight. Give GGG his fair shake, the guy is just a great fighter. Don't subtract from his victories he boxes when he needs to box, he takes his time when he needs to.

No, i'd rather they didn't con the public from the start. That's my point.

They will be in the next con mode once AJ's next bum opponent is announced and they have a PPV to sell.

I understand it's business, that's how it works.

Just a bit pathetic to see all this build up about how Brook is a MW, then literally 30 seconds after the fight they're saying otherwise. They have no shame.

He says that but he ducked GGG even though he was willing to move up to 168. THe only response we got from Froch was Too big Too strong. If that was the case Carl like in this fight why not take it?

You're saying you don't want them to say what everyone that knows boxing already knew, Brook isn't a MW. Why is that? We both know why.

No. I'd rather they say it how it is from the start. Give people the truth. But as i said, that's not good for business, i know how it works.

Just pathetic to see them backtrack and change their tune within 30 seconds of the fight once they took peoples money. It's shameless.
