Now that he's free of promoter Berman, Thomas Oosthuizen may have a good future in boxing.

Being free of Berman is not really his biggest problem tho is it?

It's you know...being an alcoholic and not bothering training, taking drugs etc...

Is he really an alcoholic? He appears to have trained well for this fight.

Berman was his problem: poor money, poor training facility, no support. Tommy lacked control over his own destiny.

I hope Gvozdyk and Lomachenko can break away from Arum (who is like Berman) before it's too late and they go into the downhill spiral like Billy Collins, Korobov, Pavlik, etc.

Yeah, it was why the Braehmer fight was cancelled

            We shouldn't judge him.

Maybe if we had someone like Berman or Arum promoting us, controlling our careers, it might drive us to drinking too.

This is good news, I have been wondering about Oosthuizen since we learned he had problems with drink and drugs. Maybe one of the good boxing redemption tales underway. Godspeed Tommy!

I'd like to see him fight Commonwealth champ Bob Agisafe next!
