I really "hate" the timing of this one. My ole lady's pregnant and gonna be due very close to this date. If I didn't have that going on, I'd definitely be in the building.

I don't know why Ward doesn't play up to his Irish heritage. He could have doubled his fanbase easily just by reminding everyone now and again that his dad was an Irish American. 'Irish' Andre Ward is way better than the weakass sounding S.O.G.

I can see what you're saying, but Ward doesn't really self-promote well. He doesn't really build up his own fights (I'm not saying this is a good or bad thing). He seems to want to stay away from the publicity while still accruing as much money as possible (not easy). With that being said, he may not resonate with the Irish culture. If that's the case, why try to fake it? I'm just speculating here, but I'm okay with him not pimping out his heritage especially if it's not a part of him that he fully embraces. That would just be a facade and to some degree disrespectful.

I will guess Virgil Hunter has made a big impact on Ward not resonating with his irish heritage.
Just guessing growing up in Oakland also plays a part.
I think Ward like Mcgregor doe
