Hopefully Shakur hasnt signed or made any agreements to Floyd just yet. He needs to focus on this Olympic thing first then after he can sit down and see whats out there.

The possibility of winning a gold medal changes things in signing with a promoter. The ones that are advising him should be telling him to wait and see whats out there and figure out which company will be best for his early career development and which ones will give him the best incentives.

If he wins a gold medal he will be a very highly sought out boxer and promoters will be wanting to get there hands on him. He can force these guys to give him the best deals and opportunities.

Signing with Mayweather may end up being best for him early on in his career but it doesnt hurt to see whats out there first before give Floyd a commitment just yet.

Why sign with Mayweather or any promoter this early on? Wait till the Olympics are over and create a bidding war with ALL the promoters driving up your price trying to sign you.

Totally agree. Why pigeonhole yourself before seeing what's out there? He needs to go get this gold then weigh his options with the team around him.

I know you are ***ing around with what you say but if all he is looking for is millions then i say go ahead and go with Mayweather who is looking to shower the kid with some nice money.

But if he is looking at this in the long term and where he wants his career to be in 5 and even 10 years from now, he needs to evaluate it less on the money and more on the opportunities and future goals. If he is as good as people are saying, then the money is going to be there.

In the beginning he needs to be with someone who is going to develop his skills as a pro and let him grow into them at a pace his body allows, instead of focusing on someone throwing money at him.

Smart people always have visions of future goals and where they want to be at career wise 5, 10, 15, 20 years down the line. As young as Shakur is, looking for a money grab now should be less inportant now, as the money will be there especially if he wins the gold, and he needs to put an emphasis into who is going to develop him right and put him in position to meet his goals boxing wise years down the line.

In my opinion, Mayweather put his eyes on him since he sparred in his gym, Andre Ward and Mayweather are the favorites fighters of Shakur and Mayweather probably knows that, so he caught Shakur even before he was in the medal rounds, when the wolves are sleeping, smart move by Floyd and looking by the way he moves his fighters, maybe Shakur will be fighting for a title before his 21 birthday.
