Comments Thread For: Mikey Garcia: Crawford Fight Would Play Out Different in Pros

Former two division world champion Mikey Garcia (35-0, 29KOs) would love the opportunity to avenge his amateur defeat to Terence Crawford (29-0, 20KOs), who currently holds the WBC/WBO junior welterweight world titles.

I agree, I believe Mikey has alot more pop than crawford does and picks his shots better.

It would take a fighter of Mikey's class to make things uncomfortable for p4p most boring fighter in the world.

That thing that Mayweather does in the last round when he knows he's won seems to be what crawford has based a 12 round game plan on?

Good fight but I see Crawford keeping Mikey off balance and winning on the scorecards. Crawford moves well but he's not a runner. What Mikey has over him is power but I dont see Crawford getting himself into position for Mikey to unload on him.

If Mikey doesn't fight him in 2017, the fight will be @ 147, and that might be a disadvantage for Mikey! I want to see Mikey Garcia vs. Felix Verdejo before Mikey moves up!

Mikey is never going to fight Crawford he's just trying to keep himself relevant. Honestly i think crawford knocks mikey out.

Mikey will never fight either of those two. He took over 2 years off, lost out on millions and set his career back just so he didnt have to fight gamboa.

What makes you think Mikey would fight a running man? Gamboa had a beautiful style and Mikey was forced to leave Arum. He didn't care about the chance of beating the Cuban.

Off balance?? You can not have that kind of power that Mikey has and be off balance. Highly doubt that will happen. His power and pressure will be too much for Crawford.

I don't think Gamboa was the problem, but signing an extension was. In the U.S., we don't question the courage of other athletes (football, baseball, basketball, etc.) when they holdout for contract negotiations. We know it's a business decision. Mikey handled his business, and he's now a free agent. I respect him for that! Do you ever wonder why so many fighters have left Arum? Oscar, Floyd, Cotto, Gamboa, Rigondeaux, and Mikey Garcia! That's a list with about 4 HOFers! Why is that?
