Comments Thread For: Roy Jones: Ward Wins, He is P4P Best - If Kovalev Wins, Not Sure

Former four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. broke down one of the best matches of the year, the light heavyweight showdown between IBF/WBO/WBA world champion Sergey Kovalev (30-0, 26KOs) and Olympic gold medal winner Andre Ward (30-0, 15KOs).

Poor RJ got knocked out a little too often. Probably his brain not compressing that Ward is ranked below Kovalev on every P4P list out there. Probably not realizing that Ward hasnt done shit in over 3 years.

Depends what you're looking for. Roy beat Bernard unanimously although Bernard did win some rounds back in May of 1993. Fast forward to March 2010, Bernard completely outclassed Roy. I think you would be the only fan willing to pay for such fight.

You guys lack reasoning ability. It's obviously a bigger achievement for Ward to beat Kovalev than it is for Kovalev to beat ward.

Ward has already conquered smw, Kovalev ducked a purse bid with Stevenson.

Ward is moving up, Kovalev picking on a smaller guy.

Ward been inactive for years, Kovalev has absolutely no rust.

All these factors put together equal to Ward's victory being all the more glorious as compared to Kovalev.

Ducked a purse bid? LMFAO, what about when Stevenson ran to a different network, there was no point of going through with the purse bid when Haymon would have won. Kovalev can't fight outside HBO idiot. Stevenson wanted nothing to do with Kovalev, and was only flexing because he knew this.
