Every fighter pac has faced over the past decade (maybe with the exception of algieri.. Maybe) is leaps and bounds better than vargas. I don't even think Mexicans care to see vargas get this fight.

as a fan, im not even interested in this fight. call me crazy but i was way more excited for pac vs algieri than this match up here lol.. for a come back fight out of retirement (regardless if the retirement was fake or not) i just dont think a name like jessie vargas is good enough.

if pac would have never announce his retirement after the bradley fight then i would treat this match up like the algieri one but since this is suppose to be his first fight out of retirement, its even worst than the algieri fight!

Is there a less interesting option for Pacquiao's return than Jessie Vargas?

I rather see him fight Robert Guerrero than Jessie Vargas. At least, I know that Robert would come to fight. Arum must think "he's young, he's Mexican, he has a title, why haven't I made this fight sooner?!?!". If this fight gets made, it's going to be Pacquiao-Algieri part deux in the ring and it's going to sell like pre-Oscar Pacquiao-David Diaz outside of it.

shame the broner fight never came off would have been fun during the builld up and while it lasted in the ring

it would have been a win/win situation for the fans either pac beats the living hell out of broner or broner shocks everyone by winning but this vargas fight would be a load of one sided crap
