    I would have liked to seen the fight at 150 or below, marquez roided...


    But Juan has given us some great fights, and I can understand why he passed on the fight

    This fight would have just been a cash grab similar to roy jones vs tito trinidad

        I don't agree with Marquez' stance that draining Cotto was the only way to have made this fight competitive, but I respect that Marquez has the courage to admit that he rejected the fight because he thought he would lose.

        I don't like how he played with Cotto's year, but at the very least Marquez was able to admit the truth behind his decision.

        To think that this was all perhaps a ploy by Marquez in order to stay relevant is bewildering, but I guess it's within the realm of possibility, and it would fit his "chess master" persona.

          I agree, but I don't think marquez was ever going to go higher than 147.. It was a deal breaker for cotto
