It almost did not happen. Boxing fans were going to be left out from watching the rematch between Jesus Soto-Karass and Yoshihiro Kamegai, one of the most anticipated fights of 2016.

I am glad HBO added that rematch to the telecast. Should be a great night of boxing. Hopefully Brook can make the most of his huge step up to the plate.

I didn't see that this year that's for sure.

That certainly explains the mismatches we've been seeing.

If that's really your goal Peter Nelson then you haven't been doing a very good job at getting it done. This a fun B-fighter action fight, two in-ring warriors with hearts twice as big as their talent, much respect to them, and I will always watch great warriors like these battle against each other in the ring.

But what boxing fans really want are best vs best at the elite level. THE ELITE LEVEL. Not the B-level.

Meaning, these are the fights we should be getting this year:

              1. Kovalev-Ward
              2. GGG-Canelo in September then GGG-Jacobs in December.
I mean where did this rule come from in boxing suddenly that you weren't allowed to make two great fights in a row? That you had to space them out two years? This is how you create momentum and superstars!
              3. Pacquiao-Mayweather or Pacquiao-Crawford
              4. Kovalev-Ward winner vs Beterbiev/Stevenson in December
              5. Chocolatito vs Estrada II
              6. Lomachenko vs Walters which would have been made already if HBO wasn't cheap
              7. If not that, Walters-Valdez
              8. Lomachenko-Rigondeaux in December
              9. Lomachenko-Verdejo next April
              10. Marquez-Cotto at 147 or Bradley-Cotto at 150
              11. Inoue vs Donaire this fall

There's ten huge fights boxing could make by the end of this year, or next April. And that's mostly just involving HBO's tiny staple. There are like 50 that could be made on PBC's side.

But how many will we actually get? Maybe 1 of those on HBO's side, maybe one or two on PBC's side. So out of say 40 great fights that are ready to be made this year alone, we will get 2 or 3.

That's why boxing is failing. How can the promoters not see that???
