And that's why everyone except maybe you hates Bob Arum with his mismatches. Of course Arum has to protect his cash cow Pacman that's why Pacman fights BUMS or SHOT fighters.
But that aside, your logic is based on the fact that Arum offered Pac a fight with Broner? That's your reasoning? Jeez!

So if Arum was to offer Pacman a fight against Brando Rios then that would make Rios relevant in your eyes? Wait!!! he already did that.

If he was to offer Pac a fight against Mosley right after Mosley got beat up by Mayweather that that would make Mosley relevant? Wait!! He did that already

If Arum was to offer Pac a fight against a virtual unknown called Chris Algieri then that would make Algieri relevant? Wait!! He did that already

If Arum was to offer Pac a fight against a drained Margarito or a trigger shy Clottey then that would make them relevant? Wait!!! He already did that.

I guess Arum is a god in your eyes after all.
I can't stand Bob Arum! However Bob Arum knows how the fight game works! The most watched events are when you have a "good guy" versus a "bad guy." Broner has won titles @ 130, 135, 140, and 147. You and I know that Pacquiao would be heavily favored to beat Broner, but that's irrelevant! People would pay to see it happen! Broner is relevant because not only Arum tried to secure him for Pacquiao, but Danny Garcia has called him out for his next opponent too! Broner puts a$$es$ in seats! "Nuff said!

Also- Crawford is more than one skill-level above Garcia.

Garcia is a champion surrounded by very threatening challenges, we'll see if he ever invites any of those fights. There is no shortage of dangerous opponents even with Crawford being on the list.
Garcia fought Matthysse, Khan, and Peterson while he was champ and each one of them was #1 contender. He also fought top 10 guys in Morales (2x), Campbell, Holt, Judah, and Herrera. Crawford has fought Postol. Who else has Crawford ever fought? A post-Balco Gamboa? A lw who wasn't even top 10 at lw? Dulorme? Yes, the fight with Salka was most likely the worst match-up ever, the worst fight any champion has ever took. But he did continually fight the #1 in his own division for years. At WW, he beat a serviceable Malignaggi and then a top 10 ww. Crawford has one fight with a top 10 jww. And no ww's. Literally. If one is just a hater, that's fine; but anyone who actually looks who Garcia and Crawford have each fought it would definitely appear that Crawford is the one afraid to take chances and not Garcia. If Garcia is scared, then Crawford is like Shaggy and Scooby Doo shaking and shivering.

Yea right, Abel. Crawford isn't going to turn down a Pacquiao payday. If that fight falls into their laps, they're not going to turn it down to pursue a Garcia bout...that's ******.

Garcia is a very good fighter, but I just don't think he is on the elite level and his reign has been right inside the Mayweather/Pac era and somehow he's never made a fight with either of them or their contemporaries. Cotto, Maidana, or even old Mosley etc.

Zab Judah and Erik Morales were both essentially a decade past their respective primes when they got in line for Garcia. Zab's best win in that late run was his win over Matthysse- which only hurts the case for Matthysse being a great win for Danny (though I still think it was a great win).

Garcia has a tendency to look his best against his toughest opponents and then turn right around and go life and death with lesser opposition.

He beat Matthysse during the peak of the Matthysse hype, and that was a fantastic win. It probably changed Matthysse forever. Khan was beating the hell out of Garcia before he got caught and exposed. Garcia won a very competitive and close decision against Peterson. Two fights prior LP fought a common opponent with Crawford in Dierry Jean and won a UD, who Crawford stopped.

Crawford is still on the come up, while I see Garcia as well established. But considering how long Garcia's been a champ in the spotlight (4 or 5 years) I don't think his resume is anything to brag on. There are some glaring omissions considering the names that have been around. Welter has been a who's who of great if not legendary fighters for years now. But he's had some big wins and some great nights.

I just want to see Garcia make a dangerous fight, not a convenient in-house fight with a Guerrero or a Peterson type fighter. Fight Errol Spence. Push for Keith Thurman. Or even just do the Khan rematch. Fight old Cotto, I honestly don't know he would beat Miguel even in 2016. I am just constantly underwhelmed by Danny Garcia's opponents- Matthysse having been the big exception for me.

Anyways- I just made it seem like I hate Garcia but I don't. I just want the best fights, being in deep with Haymon is what creates this effect I'm trying to describe. I trust we'll see a big time Garcia fight soon. It is definitely due. I also trust that we'll continue to see Crawford dominate, but realistically I doubt they'll ever fight.

Cool theory. Except both Pac and Garcia are in the same weight class - he's not saying he should move up. He's giving his opinion on which of two fighters of the same class Crawford should fight. And as a matter of fact, they're both light for WW, since Garcia just moved up and Pac is notoriously small. So it would basically be two guys undersized for WW fighting each other.

I would also point out that SMW doesn't have anyone even remotely close in resume or name recognition like Pacquaio or even Garcia.. but logic usually goes over your head.

                Keep on hatin'.

Your post NOW makes sense and I do agree with you now. From a financial stand point it seems like a good match. A loud mouthed buffoon (who almost fights like Floyd) vs the popular Pacman. We'd all eat it up.

I just don't think Broner is relevant to the real boxing fans who appreciate the sweet science. Broner can actually be relevant if he stays at 135/140. It's a weight that he can own. At 147 he's a tad small for the Porters and Thurmans. But that's just my thoughts. Broner could have been somebody if he played with the weight class a little longer. Look at Hopkins, the bastard stayed at 160 for so long fighting BUMS after BUMS until Tito and Oscar came knocking and suddenly Hopkins became a legend.
