Sammy Vasquez Jr. Vs Felix Diaz - Best Fight of the Night?

I couldnt find a thread about this fight, but this is a really good fight.
Diaz should have got the decision win against peterson, so in my book it is a contest between two undefeated fighters.

How do u guys rate Sammy Vasquez? Ive only seen one fight and he looked good, but not awesome. Decent technique paired with good height and reach.

The bookmakers have Diaz as a rather big underdog, but in my opinion its a 50/50 fight.

Diaz has the amateur pedigree and looked pretty good against Peterson, who was coming of a controversy points lost against Danny Garcia.
He also has a win against Granados, who recently upsetted Imam.

The only setback for him probably is that he doesnt have game changing power and sometimes is too defensive in order to win a points win against haymons favored fighter.

I think it will be a really close fight with Diaz landing the cleaner shots, but Vasquez will probably win a disputed MD or SD.

definately FOTN, it will be competitive but i rate sammy and i expect he wants to put on a big performance so i want a clear UD or a stoppage here.
If he does that, he's in for some big big fights and set's up the Spence Jnr fight to re-ignite that old rivalry.

Vasquez is becoming one of my favorite boxers. He makes great mid-fight adjustments and has a great workrate, places his shots well to both body and head, has a good defense too. Picking Vasquez to pull away around the 5th round and to break Diaz down. UD for Vasquez or late stoppage in 10-12 for him.

This is a great fight and a huge test for Sammy.


Vasquez easily beat Aron Martinez who was robbed against Guerrero and beat Alexander, I feel he didn't get enough credit for that but hope I he makes a statement against a very tough, should-be undefeated fighter.

I think Vasquez is one of the more overrated fighters right now.

I don't think he will look good against real competition. He reminds me of Mike Arnoutis. Mike was probably much better tbh, but once he stepped up, he got crushed every time.

I think the exact same thing happens to vasquez. I think people here will be very surprised how bad he looks vs real competition.
