Comments Thread For: Murray: I'd Beat Eubank Very Comfortably, He Used GGG's Name

Martin Murray always said that British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. had no intention of fighting IBO/WBA/WBC/IBF king Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin. Their deal to fight fell apart last week after Eubank failed to meet several set deadlines to reach an agreement. Instead, IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook answered the call and now moves up by thirteen pounds to face Golovkin on September 10th at the O2 Arena in London.

I wonder how much Groves took out of Murray, and how well Murray would handle making the cut once more. Good fight to make though, bump Eubank's popularity up more and give him another name on his resume.

I guarantee murray would win this. So what he lost to groves, martinez, abraham and golovkin, they are all world level fighters. Eubank will never ever be a world level fighter, how he is rated i dont know. Did people not see how easy saunders outboxed him before he got knackered due to poor conditioning? Spike and blackwell gave him real trouble at times aswell, but they didnt have the physicality to cope later on.

I like Murray he's a solid professional. I don't have have any qualms with him touting for fights. He's proved that he's willing to earn his pay against the best so fair play to him. I'd question his assertions on this one, I don't think he's busy enough, his guard makes him a sitting target and his durability seems to be on the wane but this is a fight I'd like to see. Eubank should be fighting at Murray's level now and I'd never begrudge Martin another payday.

I rate Jr. and think this would be a good test as Murray still has a little ambition of his own left.......good fight get it made ....and sr. go for a long walk.

Murray hasn't looked any better at super middle, probably worse, and may well be better off dropping back down a weight, but he's been in mostly hard fights due to his style and his best days are behind him, quite frankly. He'll provide a ''tough fight'' for most fighters, only down to Martin being hard to knock out.
Take away the first few rounds, his performance against Martinez in Buenos Aires was absolutely immense.

Eubank will beat him up and stop him.

Murray poses no threat to Jr, stylistically or physically. He's got very little power and average speed, his output isn't great, he's an average boxer, his defence is leaky...

Murray can take a beating, but that's not enough. Eubank is getting better with every fight, he's a strong middleweight with really good speed and combinations, his output is extremely high and his engine is excellent.
