Comments Thread For: McGuigan: I Fear Brook Will End Up Like Khan Did With Canelo

Barry McGuigan, a former world champion and manager of such boxers like Carl Frampton, believes IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25KOs) will get knocked out when he moves up by two weight divisions to challenge WBC, WBA, IBF, IBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (35-0, 32KOs).

Don't worry about it Barry the Fairy. Managers and promoters are all worried that Khan and Brook have set the new standards and all the coward meal ticket "fighters" trying to emulate the Fraud Pedcheater Jr business model will be firced to fight and get their asses kicked forcing these money grubbing blood leeching "promoters" to work for a living instead of living off our hard work and sacrifice. Piss off

I've seen almost all of triple ggg's fights and I've seen nothing that indicates golovkin will render brook uncontious the way Khan was when he faced Canelo....don't get me wrong triple ggg's power is massive but it's a systematically breaking down and then stopping an opponent .....golovkins body attack I think is the only way we see brook Down for the full count....a head shot one punch knockout is unlikely in my opinion....brooks never been beaten and is a really good welterweight and will give golovkin a test until golovkin has worked his way inside and wears brook down....brook is a big welterweight and can at least put on a good show.....golovkin inside 10 i reckon

I used to have a lot of respect for McGuigan and his perspective.

But recently he has become a complete tool - all the Frampton hype has really gone to his head.

I wonder what he would say if HE had the option to make fortune by moving Frampton up 2 divisions?

Brook not as disciplined? Not sure what he means by that!
But I have more confidence in brook than khan. But porobkem is GGG is better than nelo. Brook would beat nelo perhaps.
But it's in London, so that is helpful. Brook won't have to take ad many chances and be reckless in backyard

There's good reason why Canelo has given away his 'middleweight' title and moved to light middle and that reason is GGG.

A good payday and a ballsy move from Kell but GGG is the best out there and the 14lbs move up to GGG's weight will only add to the agony.I would love our fellow countryman to do it but I too think it's just a bridge too far.

                GGG around 5-6 ...I hope i'm wrong.

I would probably predict no more than 8 rounds.......10 at a push shoulder.....brooks welterweight speed should give him some moments and a natural speed advantage so it all depends how brook copes with triple GGG's relentless pressure....but huge respect for brook doing this because he's a unbeaten welterweight champion who is almost certainly sacrificing his unbeaten record when he steps in the ring with golovkin

I think getting beaten to a pulp from pillar to post is worse than getting rendered unconscious while you are winning the fight in the eyes of the masses.

Khan for 6 rounds took very little punishment...asides for a couple of left hooks, body shots and a right hand

GGG can cause some serious long term damage, a type of beating which will shorten your career. Brooks "toughness" will not do him any favors. I just hope Brooks corner is willing to pull him out and they don't allow him to take unnecessary punishment, in a fight where he has no chance.

If he is behind on the cards by round 6 and is getting man handled, his corner should just stop the fight.
