Just feels like we're trudging through the tunnel with no light up ahead. Hell, not even an oncoming train light.
I would have been "happy" with any of the top ten at 168 so either of those guys is a good call

Groves would've been a logical choice as he has just beaten Murray who is regarded by many as GGG's best win

Anyway, the whole "once we move to 168, we'll never be back" excuse doesnt wash with me

Yes, I know it isn't good to go up and down in weight, but I think he could unify and fight at 168. Heck, worst case scenario, he doesn't get to unify and moves up, with the definite right to say they all ducked him. No shame in that at all.

its a great match up. You lot are so pessimistic, stop writing brook off before hes even got in the ring. If he manages the extra weight well, then we could have a great fight on our hands, cause its a world class fighter v a world class fighter

However, this fight with Brook is a sure win. Anything is possible in boxing, but some things are highly improbable and this one of them. Golovkin will knock him out inside of 5 rounds IMO. If Brook pulls the upset, I will be more shocked than I've ever been from any boxing match ever.

Now, as a top dog, I agree with other posters who think he should move up. I want him to unify at middleweight. I think he can do both, fighting bigger guys at a higher risk to himself and his "0" and gaining the respect of boxing fans instead of fighting another guy that is an easy lock for him to win.

As a boxing fan, of Golovkin or anybody else, you have to stop and ask yourself what you like about boxing. For me, competitive matches where, going in, you can't pick a winner. Kovalev-Ward is one of these. Golovkin-Brook is the opposite end of the spectrum.

GGG is the man IMO, but he has to prove it against guys we aren't too sure he can beat. He can still realize his 10 pound unification dream as well. HIs star power is growing. But hey. If he went up and beat DeGale or Chavez Jr. or Jack, how much could his haters really complain? I know, the haters will hate no matter what, but he would solidify all of the fans like myself who believe in him if he were to do this. I mean, I want him to unify, but it's really a matter of time. I see him blazing through Eubank, Saunders, Jacobs and Canelo. I'm not even sure any of those fights would be competitive. That's how much I believe in him. I also believe he can move up and take out some of the best 168 pounders as well.

I've done threads bashing marinating and bashing mismatches before. I'd be some hypocrite if I went along with this. A few posters on here opened my eyes and I say GGG is great, but he needs to do a better job of proving it.
I'm a GGG fan and I agree with everything you said.

GGG should move up after this fight because MW is a waste of time. Jacobs has no confidence that he can beat GGG and Saunders won't even fight Jacobs for fucks sake. This weight class is currently the biggest joke in boxing right now.

It's really sad. It brings up the problem of too many titles. If there was one, they'd have to go for it or not get to claim to be a champion. However, it also brings up a big issue of confidence and these guys aren't making GGG look good. They're just stalling around. It's ridiculous.

Yes, GGG will have to move up to get the fights he needs. He's not a small middleweight. He can go to 168 and probably even 175. It's time to put some hustle behind this muscle (Rocky V, ha).

Still the best fight of GGG's carreer and people act like all of a sudden, he hasn't gone easy all the way so far?

I think there could be a rude awakening come fightnight - Even if the KO comes along.

I know a lot of people have avoided fighting him. And time and again, they were given excuses from being too old to not being a real middleweight which I find ludicrous. If you're too old and there's a young lion and you're afraid to fight him, then retire and quit wasting the fans' time. So GGG has had some of those things happen and I get the timing of this fight cancelled out many better fights for him.

It could be interesting. I know Brook is looking bigger. However I just don't see it. I see it as a mismatch where Brook may get carried out. I may be wrong in the end, but I just see Golovkin as being too much for Brook to get past 6 rounds, if that.

Fair point. That's what is expected to happen by the majority of the community. I think this fight will give us crucial intel on excactly how good GGG can handle boxers and I expect the scorecards to be in Kell Brooks favor, up until some point where he gets hurt or gasses. The times that GGG has faced a moving target, he's been hit exceptionally easy so if Kell Brooks get through 6-7 rounds without being hurt, I see him taking it. Many people say that this will be the new Canelo Khan, but I see Kell Brook as a much more accomplished fighter, who uses timing much more than speed - Which is the way you wanna have it. People are underrestimating Brook to an incredible degree in this fight.

It might be pointless as far proving anything to his preexisting fans are concerned but it is certainly not pointless from the exposure standpoint -- and since the name of the game is getting more exposure so you can make more money then...

Oh I'm sure the Brits will turn out in droves for Brook. And more exposure for GGG on the international scene. Sure thing. The only thing is, though, should a fan give a rat's arse about exposure? I have to admit that I don't. I care about competitive fights and I don't see one here.

But who knows? Maybe Brook will surprise us. He'll have all the UK behind him for sure. It will be the loudest crowd at a GGG fight yet.
