And the blame for that lies on GGG and his team for accepting mediocrity and not doing anything about it. His fans keep providing excuses for it, as well. They should be out there shopping this product mercilessly, taking weight cuts, pay cuts, etc to get that foot in the door amongst boxings elite.
Thats the reality. They will hunt this fight down like they're looking for a long lost relative, until the end of time.
I sure hope the fight happens as well, because when Canelo beats GGG it's going to be priceless watching the turds say to themselves "well, I guess we ****ed up and put all our eggs in the wrong basket..."

GGG is fighting in the UK on a matchroom card and PPV. He's the B-side to a prospect/domestic champion. Canelo reputation has taken a hit from GGG fans. All 150,000 thousand of them. If Canelo and his team managed his career like GGG's team, he'd be going over to the UK to fight Liam Smith.
These hardcore boxing fans that complain make up a small percent. And even though they complain they'll still tune into his fights. We saw the same thing happen for 9 years with Floyd Mayweather. Boxing fans complained, talked boycotts, and he ignored ya'll and sold millions of PPV's.

Fight Lara.....
GGG should fight Lara. Even though I like Lara I favor GGG in that fight due to his shear size. Plus it'll give him bragging rights if he performs better than Canelo which many think he lost to Lara including me. Downside is if he destroyed Lara then Canelo fight would never happen. So I can see why GGG has no interest in fighting Lara.

Now it's official, Tom Loeffler has completely, objectively, proven himself to be full of isht.
First he says, "We would have liked to do it last May. But you can't force it."
Then he says, "If you only have to wait a year for the biggest fight in boxing, that's what we're willing to go through."
Full of isht, completely, like I said. If you wanted to do the fight in May 2015, but it's happening no sooner than fall 2017, that's waiting two years and a half, not "only a year." And since we've actually been waiting ever since Sergio Martinez in 2012 for GGG to fight the lineal champ, folks, we have officially reached Mayweather-Pacquiao level delays once again! Hurray boxing! We're going strong on 4 years delay right now, by fall 2017 it will be 5 years. That's May-Pac territory, folks.
Doesn't it feel good to be back there?
Loeffler, you should give up your rights to promoting GGG and let a real promoter who doesn't downplay the length of ducking of his opponents, and do other promoters apologizing and ducking for them, take over.

Also worth pointing out Canelo/GB didn't even attempt to negotiate a catch-weight, as most of us expected. They didn't offer a 155 pound contract or any of that, simply dropped the belt rather than try and play ball.
I seriously doubt Canelo stays at 154 for long, especially since there are rumors they are already looking to setup a middleweight fight after Smith.
It's pretty obvious Canelo wasn't interested in Golovkin at any weight.
Tom is a half glass full, happy go lucky kind of guy with the media but I'm sure they aren't counting on a Canelo fight at all and consider the fight dead until Golden Boy/Canelo actually talk about a fight again.
