Comments Thread For: Eubank Sr: We're Not Ducking Jacobs, We Can Beat Golovkin!

According to Chris Eubank Sr., father and trainer of British middleweight champion Chris Eubank Jr. (22-1, 17 KOs), they never ducked a potential fight with WBA 'regular' middleweight champion Danny Jacobs.

I like the fight and Jr. will give a good account of himself before getting stopped but I think senior is somewhat overlooking the fact that Jr. although a close fight did lose to Billy Jo and should look at avenging that defeat soon.

Basically, why risk losing twice, once to Jacobs, and losing the opportunity to fight GGG? Makes perfect sense! All you have to do is look at Amir Imam, Antoine Douglas, and Andrej Fonfara! Hopefully Eubank Jr. is not overlooking Doran! A loss now would be horrible!

But what does GGG get out of it? If he beats eubanks he beat a bum. If GGG loses, he lost to a bum!

We know eubanks isn't a bum, but people are unfair to GGG. Nelo beat elite superstar khan.

It's just negociating tactic... More money fighting GGG so... Then once he's chickened out, he'll go to Jacobs and Sanders saying: "This is what i was offered to fight GGG!" I guess he needs new suits...and aliMONEY.

Saw a lot of people criticize Sr when he left Matchroom to fight Blackwell, including myself. But if he manages to pull off a stadium fight with GGG in the UK, without fighting Saunders and Jacobs, WOW! Very unusual path to take but it worked. Props to Eubank Sr. on this one. Even Hearn criticisized Eubank Sr when he left to fight Eubank instead of staying to fight for a world title against Jacobs.

This is a No win fight for GGG, better be paid

As soon as GGG takes Eubanks out, the same people on boxing scene claiming Eubanks will be the best he's faced will then say, "but who has Eubanks best?"

If he faces Golovkin and loses, it's obviously no disgrace. A minor set back, he can then take a gimme' fight at home if need be, then on the likes of Jacobs and Lee. Who i feel he would be competitive with.
