Good step up fight for Vasquez. They are moving him along very well.

Wow - how many times do we want to see Collazo get beat and battered.....he is so far "past it". Haymon has no shame - one terrible mismatch after another....

Was really hoping for the Peterson rumors to be true, but this is decent.

Luis Collazo has been stopped once in 43 fights, with that stoppage happening over 14 years ago (not coming out of the corner because of eye damage is a bit different).

He's a quality operator, is an awkward southpaw, and has never really taken a sustained beating in a fight.

Vasquez gets a good look, Collazo gets another opportunity for a payday, and a good performance (even in a loss) sets the stage for a final opportunity to remain viable as a fighter (thinking about his fellow New York/NY-based welterweights who he can fight [Algieri, Provodnikov, Malignaggi], Robert Guerrero, and possibly a Victor Ortiz rematch]

Al Haymons matchmaking is limp and sterile, he is the master at putting on uninspired matches. I was looking forward to Sammys next fight but this is a fait accompli.
