Comments Thread For: Thurman-Porter is a 50-50 Fight in Every Way, Says Bernstein

Hall Of Fame Boxing announcer Al Bernstein calls the June 25 Keith Thurman-Shawn Porter welterweight title match "a fight for the fans." Al continued, "I call it that because it has all the elements of a match that resonates with boxing fans. It checks all the boxes, both men are in their prime, the contrasting styles in the ring should make it fascinating and both men are highly motivated because they feel this is the most important fight of their careers."

Thurman and Porter taking high risk fight to be great, and also get payed. Not like other boxers ducking each other and getting nowhere.

Porter's style isn't always pleasing on the eye, but it can be effective.
He makes his opponent work hard.

I can see it being a tight fight that Thurman edges. I'm rooting for Porter though.

This is the type of matchup you could make 3 times, and get a different outcome every time. One scenario is Runman catching Porter with hook lounging in, another scenario is Porter catching Thurman with a body shot and finishing it, and another scenario could be a UD for Runman. This matchup can play out so many different ways.

You Gigi fans should stop name-calling young fighters in competitive weight divisions while your old hero rots in a dead one.

You're rooting for Porter because if he wins it makes Kell look good plus it takes Thurman off the radar.

Watch Thurman puts Porter to sleep.

I think Porter wins because he's just a tough bastard who's been through it. I haven't really seen Thurman be tested.

I will say that Thurman can always catch Porter with something.

If you haven't seen Thurman tested, then you're too casual of a fan to know what you're looking at in the first place.
