Comments Thread For: Provodnikov's Manager: Rematch With John Molina is Possible

Ruslan Provodnikov, a former WBO junior welterweight champion, suffered a tough defeat last Saturday night at Turning Stone Casino in Verona, New York. He was upset by dangerous contender John Molina, who pulled off the upset when he outboxed Provodnikov to win a twelve round unanimous decision.

Why? It just proves ruslan CANNOT box, nor beat someone who uses any boxing skill against him. He was soundly beaten, rematch not needed.

His style demands for the 'hungriness' he talked about missing immediately after the Molina loss, so a lot of his continued fighting success would require him to get this back, tenfold actually. Because once you see this type of fighter lose the burning desire to deal out and not least take punishment, it's retirement time. It's not like he at this later stage in his career is going to develop a new approach to the game. Would be great to see him in another war though if he's still got it in him. We always have the Bradley fight to remember, if not.

Totally unnecessary fight. Molina will be better next time, and Provodnikov will be the same if not worse. Ridiculous to do this one again.

Is he trying to set a record for how many times a person gets hit without falling down?

I felt bad for Ruslan, Molina looked to have rehydrated to another weight class or two above him on fight night.

His manager is nothing but a money grubbing dirt bag! Trying to say it was just not his night - to get Prov motivated to continue. Prov is spent and wont even be able to spell his own name If he continues. He'll be 85 years old when he is 45. What we never saw was all the AM fights he had getting hit like a punching bag. He is the poster boy for future pugilistic dementia.

Ruslan should be planning his exit from boxing not planning for a rematch with a guy who beat him already.
