Comments Thread For: Crawford Says Top Guys Too Focused on Mayweather, Pacquiao

WBO junior welterweight champion Terence Crawford (28-0, 20KOs) admits it's tough to secure the top names because a lot of them are paranoid to take risks when Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. are potentially making comebacks in the next twelve months.

Yea, seriously. We're fortunate enough to have an abundance of talented welters right now, yet guys are still trying to grave rob retired fighters.

Crawford is correct. These young guys want to use Manny or Floyd as their come up to super stardom. I can understand why they want a huge money fight with Floyd or Manny but they need to be focused on creating their own legacies and stop trying to coattail the legacies of retired great fighters.

What's funny is Bob Arum robbed him of a huge payday with Manny Pacquiao to put him in with Viktor Postol.

Crawford is a decent little earner for Top Rank but he's never going to be a big star.

As if Top Rank would put Crawford in with any of those top guys. Arum doesn't promote them so no in-house fights.

              Be patient

Crawford has to realise that Mayweather and Pacquiao worked their ass off for 15-20 years and fought top notch opponents to get there. Hence, they attract MONEY. Crawford will not generate huge revenue with his name alone. If he wants opponents to focus on him, then make sure he's able to pay them as much as Mayweather and Pacquiao do.

One Floyd or PAC fight is retirement money for most guys.

Never know. Plenty thought Floyd would never be a star

TC has the right attitude, idk why anyone would diss him (mostly pbc groupies) for wanting to fight the best to become the best. TC is hungry not only for $ but for glory & recognition! #WarBud
