  • Comments Thread For: Haye vs. Bellew Fight Possible For Early 2017, Says Hearn

Eddie Hearn says David Haye could take on Tony Bellew at a catchweight of 210lbs early next year. Bellew became WBC world cruiserweight champion in May when he climbed off the canvas to halt Ilunga Makabu and the Liverpudlian immediately turned his attention to former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion Haye.

Bellew should be attempting to unify instead of targeting a HW.

Bellew is pulling a Khan, he knows he can't unify so he's going up in weight to get KTFO for the money.

Pretty much. A Haye fight is by far the most lucrative fight around for him. Get knocked out, then claim that Haye was too big and strong, then go back to CW and target Lebedev.

He is doing a Charles Martin, cashing on his belt, the next person he fight will stop him

Another farcical HW mismatch. Bellow got TKO'd by Stevenson at LHW for ****s sake, what the hell is Haye going to do to him? The annoying thing is that it'll probably be another sell-out thanks to Haye's legion of ******ed casual fans who buy tickets on the basis of his hyping the event up. I thought that the Briggs fight was bad enough, but this is getting comical.

That's now 4 easy quick KO paydays that David Haye has lined up. I almost admire his business cunning.

This fight isn't going to happen. Once Haye defeats Briggs, he is one HW fight away from IBF making him number 1 contender, setting up a title fight with Joshua.
