Comments Thread For: Jose Pedraza Plans To Target Vasyl Lomachenko if He Wins

The junior lightweight champion of the International Boxing Federation (IBF), Jose 'Sniper' Pedraza (22-0, 12KOs), will be very attentive on the outcome of the fight between WBO champion Roman "Rocky" Martinez and two-time Olympic gold medal winner Vasyl Lomachenko.

130 is so sexy right now. So much talent and the guys are actually fighting each other. Pedraza would'nt be my first choice for Loma, if he beats Rocky, but would'nt mind it either.

Yep, 130 is heating up...lotta fights to be made.

If Lomachenko beats Martinez and stays at 130, there's potential fights with Berchelt, Fortuna, Salido, Vargas, Salido II, Pedraza.

...he wants to unify, but has never had any intentions on fighting Martinez? I've got news for my homeboy Pedraza...you're not really attractive for tv either...the only one right now that's marketable for tv is Verdejo! Cotto is on another level...Like I said last week Mexicans fight Mexicans, blacks with blacks, whites with whites...why don't boricuas fight boricuas for titles?? I live right here in Guaynabo and go to most fights in the area, and lots of times I feel ripped off because of the mismatches...I think Pedraza and Martinez are weak champions, Verdejo's days are numbered...hell, Martinez and Verdejo both might lose this weekend...bendito, that'll really mess up the Puerto Rican Day Parade...me, I'll be enjoying the salsa concert in Ponce on Sunday!!

Ya. The division is crazy stacked and may be the best division in boxing. You also have Walters, and Uchiyama can still be a player even though he just lost.

How is Pedraza a weak champion??? He will beat the other champions if they ever accept to fight him. We can bet some points if u want.

              ...................

I remember when Camacho fought Trinidad its one of the few fights between Ricans that I can remember.

Boricuas simply don't like to fight each other because Rican fans don't like it (I am one of them). Mexicans on the other hand love to fight each other.

Our boxers per capita is so small that they rather conquer boxers from outside the island.

...it's Pedraza's weak-ass promoters for one, and he may be too jibaro or bobo in accepting crumbs while Verdejo is getting paid the big bucks...just a couple of months ago before his last fight, he was just sitting around waiting for a fight, and it's not because no one will fight him, it's the demands and purses his greedy promoters want...Mira, Pedraza will beat Martinez and Verdejo, but you know the mentality here...el patriotismo, el ay bendito, etc, etc...if he wants to unify and be huge, he got to fight another puertorro...Its all about getting paid, making big money for him and his family...look at Cotto, it's all about him and his family...nothing wrong with that!

Pedraza doesn't get nearly enough attention that he deserves. Not sure if it's his promotional team or what but he should be talked about as much as Verdejo. Especially since he has a belt.

If he wants Vargas he will probably have till November. Loma would be a good fight in my opinion but I'm not sure if that's possible.

How about Miura or Salido next?

**** my life these are two of my very favorite fighters. This would be a tough tough bout for Pedraza who is incredibly skilled and intelligent. I lean toward the otherworldly talent and skills of Loma, though this will be as high speed a chess match as there is.
